HCJS 12  v St Richard's 6 ½

Team work won the match for the girls, they were superb fielders which kept the score of the opposition down to a minimum. Aine and Emily were kept busy fielding between 2nd and 3rd post with Lily making some fantastic catches from Alina's accurate throwing, Alicia also bowled consistently well. The girls scored the rounders confidently, it became a very exciting match. Alina and Olivia H 2 1/2, Alicia 3 , Eleanor 2, Lily 1, Iona and Olivia S 1/2.

HCJS U9 6 ½ v St Richard's 9 ½

HCJS went into bat first with rounders for Rebecca and Lottie giving us a good start. St Richard's responded well with one or two star hitters.Lovely bowling from Fran and good backstop work from Kezia kept us in the match. Rebecca scored a second rounder in the second innings and helped by Eloise we started to catch up. St Richard's replied strongly and we finally lost 9 1/2 St Richard's v 6 1/2 HCJS.

HCJS U11 A 15 v Monmouth U11 10

We won the toss and chose to field in perfect conditions. Monmouth started slowly and scored 3 1/2 in their first innings with great bowling from Isabelle and fielding from Sarah, Poppy and Milly. We responded well with rounders for Hannah Lincoln, Hannah Larkin, Poppy, Amy and Milly Cook. We out played Monmouth throughout the match and the final score reflected the excellent play from all of the team.

HCJS U10/11B 22 1/2 v Monmouth Girls 15

HCJS played a fantastic match on Wednesday and were clearly a very strong team to beat from the start. In the first innings HCJS managed to get out five players as a result of great fielding from Megan, Annie, Rebecca and Amna. When batting Sophie, Olivia and Iona were superb. At half time the score was 10 1/2 to Hereford and 8 to Monmouth. In the second innings we managed to get four players out through quick thinking and working well as a team. Romily, Mhairi and Jasmine continued to play with strength and determination right to the end.

HCJS ‘C’ 19 – 11 ½ MONMOUTH ‘C’

In exciting match, with some very quick fielding skills being demonstrated by our girls. There was a lot of tactical play shown and all the girls worked hard in the warm sunshine, to stump the opposition. Well done to the team as they really supported one another. Sophie 5, Abigail 3½ , Alice 3, Daisy and Harriet 2 ½, Phoebe and May 1 and Bethany W ½.

HCJS  6 ½  - 17  Abberley Hall

A tough final match for the Year 6 girls, although their fielding and team work was impressive, we just could not hit the ball on the day, creating a low score for us. Sarah and Maddy worked well on 1st post and were able to stump out most of the opposition, only after they had scored.  Poppy 2 ½ , Hannah Larkin and Isabelle1each, Sarah, Maddy, Lucy and Romily all scored ½ each.

HCJS U10 10½ - Abberley Hall 6½

In the first innings HCJS and Abberley Hall were very evenly matched. Harriet, Sophie and May scored some very exciting rounders. Through some quick thinking by Teagan and Daisy and some great throws from Sophie and Rachel HCJS managed to run out five of the batting team. In the second innings HCJS only had to score ½ a rounder however, with some risky runs from May, Harriet and Sophie they scored a further 3 rounders. When fielding there was excellent platy from Georgia, Lucy and Chloe and as a result three players from Abberley were run out. The final score was 6½ to Abberley Hall and 10½ to HCJS. An excellent match to finish the season on, very well done!

The girls played five matches on the astroturf and during every match their game play really improved. Each match was a fast and furious ten minutes of intensive play. Our final position was 4th - a good result for the only 'grass' playing team in the tournament! Well done and thank you, to all the girls for playing and for the fantastic parental support on the day.

HCJS 0 v 0 Howells
HCJS 3 v 0 Monmouth
HCJS 0 v 2 St John's
HCJS 1 v 2 Malvern Downs

Monmouth U11 A v HCJS U11 A (2-4)

HCJS won the toss and kicked off quickly with fast confident play by Sarah L , Hannah L, Poppy S and Maddy W . Maddy quickly scored and we controlled the game for the rest of the half. Monmouth fought well in the second half but with great defending by Milly C, Hannah L and goalie Megan J and good play by Amy B and Mhairi M  we maintained our lead and deservedly won. Goals were scored by Sarah L, Hannah L and Maddy W(2).

HCJS U11 'B' 3 v Monmouth 'B' 0

A fierce and competitive match on astroturf and once the girls began putting their sticks down onto the surface, they were gaining possession, almost all of the time. Annabel Q played well in defence and Romily G had an energetic performance, resulting in two goals for her in close succession. In the second half the girls were much more fiesty and Isobel scored not long before the final whistle!

HCJS U11 'C' 1 v Monmouth 'C' 0

After a very steady start and fantastic saves from goalkeeper Olivia, the team became aggressive and unstoppable! Annabelle G scored her first goal for the school and Sophie F was unlucky to miss out on a couple of chances. Short corner play was demonstrated well and the girls became confident on the unfamiliar surface during the second half.

HCJS 'Lottie's Lions' 0 - 3 Hawford
A superb first match with aggression and non stop action ! Georgina R, Charley D and Charlie M played well in defence, with Mia and Lottie constantly pushing ahead but not quite having the chance to score this time. Flora and Kitty managed to cover the entire pitch and had very tired legs at the end of it! Doughnuts and singing on the bus also contributed to the exciting but exhausting afternoon for all !

HCJS 'Trickett's Tigers' 0 - 3 Hawford
Sophie and Victoria were fearless during the 8-a-side game and seemed to tackle anybody! April, Tegwen and Georgina S were kept very busy in defence, with Lucy, Kinjell and Harriet demonstrating some solid play in midfield. Again we could not quite score this time but the team showed promise.

Thank you to all the girls for playing so well and to the owners of the Army Surplus Supplies store at Fromes Hill, for allowing four of the girls to use the loo on the way home !
