This year's French trip is once again a great success. Along with visits to all the usual sites, the children also had to shop at a local market (in French) and, on a budget, buy food to make a 'French' lunch - this year's offerings included lunches in the shape of the Arc de Triomphe, the French flag and the Mona Lisa.

Year 2 have been discovering how milk makes its journey from the cow to supermarket. This week each Year 2 class has visited Bartonsham Farm Dairy and have watched cows being milked and seen first-hand how milk is processed in the dairy. This is always a fascinating outing and we are all very grateful to Mr Matthews for taking the time to show us around his farm and dairy.

Reception were charmed by the snakes brought into school by Nigel Hand of Hereford Amphibian and Reptile Trust. The children had the chance to touch and find out about these amazing and endangered creatures. Thank you to Nigel for once again sharing facts and information in such a fun and exciting way!

With the half marathon successfully completed, the whole school is now busy helping HCJS Man raise money for the Little Princess Trust. WIth cake sales, sponsored skips and a marvellous Micro Fete, the total is now approaching £1000. HCJS Man says he actually quite enjoyed the run, particularly with so much support along the route, and although he is resting at the moment, our very own school 'superhero' will be back!!

Year 6 enjoyed their visit to Belmont Abbey where they learnt all about the life of monks, both past and present. Starting with a tour of the grounds, including the pond and the herb garden, they then had a tour of the abbey and the refectory before joining the monks for their midday service. Activities included learning some Gregorian chant, calligraphy and brass rubbing and the day ended with an opportunity to fire questions at 2 of the monks.
